[i]radrobot: My Bearfight Submission

With all the working to get Bearfight together, I totally forgot to show my submission.

Thank you to everyone who submitted to Bearfight. I received about 120 submissions from about 115 different artists, and it was difficult work to pare that down to the 75 that made the final book. I'm still partially finished printing the covers, but I'm shooting for an early April release date for the finished book.

If anyone submitted to Bearfight, expect an email late tonight on whether or not you got in the book.

[i]beatonna: gorey covers 3

I do love grandpas telling inappropriate stories. And Edward Gorey book covers.

A certain talented lady has been very busy and soon, soon, ponies. Which probably calls for more comics with the fat little guy.

For those of you going to Emerald City in Seattle this weekend, you can find me with the Topatoco crew.

[i]radrobot: The IPRC: What are You Making?

Some of my perfect bound books and whatnot are featured in this short documentary about the Independent Publishing Resource Center. It's narrated mostly by Jesse Reklaw. My books show up around 2:30.

Also, only TWO MORE DAYS to submit something to BEARFIGHT! I've got a lot of good submissions already, but there's always room for more.

[i]beatonna: Matricide

There are some funny things, in the Life Of Nero. Pretty well all accounts of how Nero went about murdering his mother are hilarious in their own right - collapsible boat, anyone? - and the notion that he thought her ghost was after him is also good (as you can see by the comic). Nero's neck beard is perhaps imperial action on a weak chin in the same way George IV''s high collars were an action on double chins.

I feel you have to take early Roman historians with a grain of salt but nevertheless, please enjoy this account of Nero by Suetonius, where on no uncertain terms Nero is described as stinky, with a pot belly and a mullet, and generally gross in person.

[i]radrobot: Bearfight! Covers

Here is the front side of the wraparound cover for BEARFIGHT! The brown will be chipboard, and... AND... the white will be flocked. That's right, fuzzy covers!

If you haven't gotten your submission in yet (thank you to those who have), you still have about a week, so get on it! Deadline for submissions is March 10th.
